There are approximately 5 steps that over take my search for a job.
Step One. Click on bookmarked Boise School District website.
Step Two. Click on Job Opportunities
Step Three. Click on Job Vacancies (non-existent, especially if Luna decides to cut a bunch of teachers. Not helpful man! )
Step Four. Click on Certified
Step Five. Elementary Level

I have been doing this constantly since last summer. It is like a tick someone develops over time, and just can never stop. It is a part of my daily routine, and hopefully this will be the year that I can kick it right in the butt, and force it completely out of my daily schedule.

So far, nothing new. The only elementary level job opening is a Montessori teaching position for next year. I am sorry, but I do not know the first thing about Montessori, and I do not think I am qualified or would really like it that much (no offense to Montessori!). Although, there is a new section called, "Certified Applicant Pool." I'm not completely sure what this means, but I guess we will see!

PS: If any of you reading this are an Idaho resident, or have heard about Tom Luna's new 'plan' to 'help' (NOTICE HELP IN QUOTATIONS!) the school district, what do you think about it?

the "somewhat" very beginning.

One of my favorite quotes of all time comes from the movie, Almost Famous. It reads, ""You need to make your reputation on being honest, and you know, unmerciful." 

In order to find the job that you really want in life, you really have to be honest and unmerciful. When I graduated from college last May with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education, I knew the challenges that were ahead of me. There would be very few jobs, and hundreds of candidates. The summer passed, and I did not find a job, but I am just a few steps from being exactly where I want to be. 

On a side note, I have never been a blogger, and never thought I would, but I thought it might be a fun idea to blog about my adventures finding my dream job in this economy and the city I love. It may not be interesting, or thrilling like I imagine in my head, that is ok, you are not forced to read this. Although, if there is a little something you find curious, it'll be here for awhile. :D 

So far, I am working in the Boise School District as a Special Education Assistant. Not my dream job, but really great for the experience, and my foot is in the door. That is a big step. Next step, check the school's website everyday for teaching positions. This could be a long journey.
